Cousin Time

Bruce and Trent headed to Treasure Mountain for scout camp so we headed South to visit our Price cousins. We enjoyed International Days, took in a parade, did lots of swimming, floated the canal, played on the rope swing, canned apples, visited with Great Grandma Henrie (who's almost 92!) and had cousin sleepovers every night between Grandma's house and Aunt Karra's house.

Karra wanted to spend a day on Huntington Lake but Steve had to work so it was her first time to take the boat out all by herself. She unloaded it like a pro. The kids loved it!

Derek and Morgan like to go FAST!
The D-Man
Brilee, Benjamin, and Teagan loved the boat!

Even Benjamin jumped in!

The kids were excited to catch some crawfish (or as they call them here crawdads). Derek tied some deer meat onto the string and let's just say they came running! Morgan caught some big ones.

Checking the lines for crawfish.

We really wore all the kids out but especially 3 year old Benjamin.
They caught a whole bucket full and I asked them what they planned to do with them next. To my surprise Derek informed me they'd be dumping them back into the lake. I told him we used to eat them when we lived in the Deep South. Trent loved them - we were raising a genuine southern boy! But if I remember right they were more of a red color down there. I guess here they just catch them for fun...
While we were there Karra turned the big 37!

And Karra loves to do girl hair! I need to borrow her for our dance competitions, lol!
Teagan and Morgan. Thanks for hangin' out with us, we had fun!

  1. Well, Gayla, you are right....we do EAT them when they are red. But, they turn red when you COOK them! They start just the same as your's. You really missed your chance to have some yummy crawfish!! What a fun time with your cousins.
